ChiX Europe DataService Overview

The Chi-X Europe DataService is an easy to use web and FTP based subscription service for Chi-X Europe historical data. It enables you to download Chi-X Europe orders and trade data and rebuilt historical order books.

Historical Data Service

The historical data service gives you access to Chi-X Europe orders and trades data via two access methods. You can download daily files (made available T+1) of all orders and trades executed on Chi-X Europe via FTP. If you are interested in particular stocks rather than downloading and processing all data, you can also use the web interface to generate custom orders and trades files covering up to 6 months of data for a single instrument.

Rebuild Order Book

The Rebuild Order Book package of the service enables you to quickly analyse the depth of the market around the time of your trade or order. For a given instrument and date you are able to retrieve all orders and rebuild the book around a particular time during the day. In addition you can view the 10 most recent trades that were executed prior to the selected time. The rebuild Order Book also allows you to play the book forwards and backwards.

Example

A 3 users annual subscription costs £500 p.m. for historical data (accessible via the web and FTP). Lets assume you subscribe on 15th Jan 2010. This subscription will give you access from the beginning of January 2010 (or the beginning of February 2010) for one year. The data you will have access to covers the same period (1st January to 31st December the following year). However, if you wish to have access to data prior to your subscription start date then please choose the Complete History option. In this case you will have access during your subscription year to all data going back to 1st November 2008. There will also be a one-off additional charge of £500 p.m. * 14 months (Nov 08 – Dec 09) = £7,000 for complete history access.
